TikTok is expanding its audience and entering new devices. Thanks to its partnership with Amazon, Canadian and US users can enjoy funny and cute videos on their Fire TV devices. Put your smartphones aside and turn on your television sets; it's time to watch memes about cats.

Recently, only Europeans had such an opportunity. TikTok's Fire TV app launched this summer in Germany, the UK, and France. And now it has reached North America. In terms of its functionality, it completely repeats the mobile analog. To get started, download it from the Amazon Appstore and log in to your account, or sign up if you haven't already. Just like on a smartphone, you can view the contents of three main tabs, "Discover," "For You," and "Following," and run the videos you need. If you like to watch clips in a continuous stream, activate the AutoPlay function. You can open and control the app using the Alexa voice assistant.

This app is currently only available on Fire TV in the USA and Canada, but it will also appear on Echo Show displays in the future. In Europe, by the way, users can run TikTok videos on Samsung TVs and Android- and Google-based devices. Soon, such opportunities will also appear on LG televisions. Given the incredible popularity of TikTok (it has over 1 billion active members), it could be a great marketing ploy.

Recall that developers allowed creators to publish videos up to three mins in length earlier this year. Perhaps, this format, in contrast to short clips, is better suited for viewing on large TV screens. All these actions may strengthen TikTok's position, especially given its competition with a similar service, YouTube Shorts.
