TikTok Tops June Market Despite Privacy Concerns
It seems that privacy concerns don’t make it harder for TikTok to keep attracting millions of new users. Sensor Tower reported that TikTok was the most downloaded iOS and Android non-gaming app in June. That’s right, Facebook, Telegram, Snapchat, Zoom, and WhatsApp are all lower!
Groundbreaking Figures
TikTok was downloaded over 65 million times in June. Around 25% of downloads belong to the original version of the app, Douyin. Chinese and Indonesian users made 13% and 12% of downloads accordingly.
Facebook took the second line with 52 million downloads, which is also very impressive, but as many as 13 million downloads lower. This time, India has brought the largest number of new users, 28%. By contrast, the US user base made only 7% of the number. The rest of the apps in the June top-5 were Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp. Technically, all of them belong to Facebook, which is a bit frightening, to say at least.
Brands’ Favorite
The recent survey by Adweek reveals that TikTok is currently one of the most demanded marketing platforms for brands. Adweek reports that the app is becoming a powerful sales generator for a huge number of brands.
New Job Search Opportunity
In the US, TikTok users can create job pitches in the form of clips. The new feature is called TikTok Resume and allows people to showcase their competencies and deliver the clips to potential employers via the #TikTokResumes tag. There’s also a TikTok Resume website that shares inspiration for job seekers.
The More, The Better
The last but not least update is the option to upload 3-minute videos on the platform. That’s probably the best update for creators who want to upload longer videos without cutting them in parts.
