TikTok Music on the Way to Attention
TikTok is a big platform that has already reached huge numbers and popularity. It is hard to avoid it nowadays, but its mother company ByteDance is only starting the actual business. Back in May, it filed a trademark for the application called TikTok Music.
So far, there is no clear news about the possible platform. What we know so far is that it might be a platform for streaming, sharing, paying, and downloading music or albums. There can be other functions to the app, but there are no apparent leaks.
All in all, TikTok is already a great way to find out about new releases through ongoing trends and popular creators. It is only logical that the company would want to promote its business by streaming through the platform. Moreover, there is a known service owned by ByteDance, that works in Brazil, India, and Indonesia under the name of Resso.
Nevertheless, there were no statements that Resso might evolve into TikTok Music. However, ByteDance promoted the official release of the first platform through TikTok. What can be a reason to worry for other big streaming giants is that the trademark for TikTok Music covers not only entertainment but also sports, fashion, and current events.
Many analysts say that ByteDance won’t bother to go through the full process of getting a trademark for a project they don’t have high hopes for, meaning that TikTok Music might be released soon and get a lot of public attention. The algorithms and user base will help the media giant effectively launch a campaign for the future streaming platform.
This might actually cause trouble to services like Apple Music or Spotify. We will see when ByteDance will release an official statement regarding the surfacing trademark.
What can we wait for from ByteDance? Do you think TikTok Music has a chance of beating other platforms? We invite you to contribute your thoughts by posting them in the comments section below.
