TikTok is Planning a Huge Breakthrough in Gaming for Steamers

According to Reuters, TikTok is reportedly testing games in anticipation of a new era for the app. A TikTok official representative confirmed that HTML5 mini-games are being actively tested. Moreover, he emphasized that the company is constantly working to meet the modern requirements and standards, so the platform is regularly updated with all the latest functions.

Insiders report that the general direction of the games is primarily for those that are ad-supported and that are part of the ByteDance library, which is its parent company. This should increase TikTok's income as well as the time users spend in the app.

TikTok already had experience with games. For example, the Garden of Good minigame was created in a collaboration with Feeding America. Just like FarmVille, this application allowed to accumulate points that can later be used for donations. TikTok began to actively cooperate with the developer of FarmVille, Zynga, last year. As a result, Disco Loco 3D endless runner was created. The app is based on HTML5.

However, not only TikTok is following this trend. Chinese competitor Douyin as well as giants like Netflix and Facebook are actively introducing mobile gaming. Streaming software such as Live Studio will help TikTok users to make their content even more interactive by adding mini-apps to their videos.
