The Sims 4 “Won’t Save” Issue to Be Fixed
The Sims 4 was originally released in 2014 and has a huge army of fans, but it’s still an EA title, which means that bugs and glitches are never 100% absent. This time, the recently published “My Wedding Stories” expansion pack triggered a wave of complaints from fans from all over the world.
What Could Go Wrong?
As many users report, they are no longer able to save the game because of the new “Error code 0” issue. Most probably, the problem appeared after the latest expansion pack installation. Due to the issue, many players have lost hours of in-game progress, including character progressions and constructions. This makes everyone wonder how in the world EA managed to break one of the most important options in the entire game.
Soon after the first complaints, EA has commented on the problem and assured players that it’s under investigation right now. Users say that reloading Origin and their computers don’t fix the issue. It’s possible to save the game if you haven’t used any items from the new expansion pack yet, so it’s recommended to avoid doing it until the problem is solved. You can disable the pack on the home screen of the game where all the packs are listed when you launch it. To keep playing, launch one of the saves created before the update. This will allow you to save progress again.
There’s also a workaround that may work on your computer. Try to save the game, ignore the error message, delete the original save file (but backup it first), and try to save again. If it doesn’t work, you may also try to avoid adding items from your library to the world. It’s not a solution, but will let you save the game. Finally, you can try to open up ‘Electronic Arts’ in Documents, go to ‘Sims 4’ > ‘Saves’. Then find the most recently modified file (‘Scratch’ folder) and delete it.
Wait a Bit
EA claims that the quick fix patch is almost ready as the development team knows the issue reason. Have you experienced it already? Which workaround helped you solve it? Tell us about it in the comments and share this piece with other The Sims 4 fans you know.
