Rocket League Comes to Mobile Phones
The new mobile 2D version of the popular Rocket League simulation is called Rocket League Sideswipe. It is coming on both Android and iOS mobile platforms, according to the Psyonix developer. The company announced that the game will appear later in 2021.
The new game offers high-speed matches for 2 minutes instead of 5 minutes as we were used to in the original version. It will feature the 1v1 and 2v2 modes for mobile players. The classic version offers up to 4 players to compete against each other. At the same time, you will be allowed to the field from the side. The controls will be standard for mobile platforms.
The information appeared on Pysonix’s blog. According to the company, the game will be easy to navigate. There will be a ranking system, so players will have to compete against each other, earning points and learning new tricks. The mobile version also offers a wide range of car customization options. Players will be able to unlock cosmetics.
Rocket League's original version was released in 2015. It was created for PC and PS4 in the first place and later appeared on Switch and Xbox. Last year, after Epic Games bought the studio-developer, the game became free of charge.
