More Applications Start to Add the Word ‘Metaverse’ to Descriptions
If you are an active Internet user, you have probably already noticed that the word ‘metaverse’ becomes more and more commonly used. One of the companies that seem particularly interested in this concept is Meta. Previously known as Facebook, the company now has a name that accurately reflects its ambition of becoming one of the pioneers in this field. What is more, it’s not just Meta that is all about exploring metaverse, but other companies begin to step in.
Just recently, 86 mobile applications updated their descriptions and now have the word ‘metaverse’ in them. Such apps can be seen both in the Google Play Store and the App Store. At the moment, it seems that developers of such applications are thrilled to jump on the bandwagon along with Meta and somehow stand out from the crowd.
According to Sensor Tower, about 23% of such applications also added ‘crypto’ as one of their keywords in the descriptions. Other popular terms that appeared several times in such descriptions include augmented reality, NFTs, and VR. Based on the statistical data, game apps constitute the largest percentage of these. Also, there have been a number of social and financial apps on the list. As the industry becomes more interested and involved in the meta world, it only makes sense that developers try to use all the right words to attract new users.
If you are not familiar with what metaverse is, it is a simulated environment in the digital space that relies on the use of blockchain, VR, AR, and social media. Metaverse is a virtual space that intends to mimic the real world and people can use it to interact and create.
