Is That $3,5-Million Pokemon Cards Box Fake?

Grace Edwards 06 Jan 2022

A popular YouTuber Logan Paul has recently told his fans that he spent $3.5 million on a Base Set of Pokemon cards from the very first edition. However, the collectors have accused him of faking the collection. Another version is that Paul became a victim of a huge scam. Let's determine where the truth lies.

So What is Wrong?

The experts from the PokeBeach website published a long list of clues that reveal multiple issues with the card box purchased by Paul. The card set was first found on eBay in Canada in March 2021, but the eBay ad included multiple mistakes. Besides, the seller suspiciously named number1pokemonmaster provided many contradicting facts about how he obtained the collection. The set was sold for $72,500 back then, which was many times less than collectors usually pay for sealed Pokemon cards. This was already a reason for suspicions.

Next, the cards were sold to Card Kahuna, who managed to verify them at the Baseball Card Exchange. However, the online community says that BCE doesn’t have enough experience in varifying Pokemon cards as it only deals with simple booster boxes. Besides, the organization didn’t provide any real evidence of authenticity. The community found a series of strange artifacts on the box, including a weirdly new-looking sticker, a bar code that doesn’t match the serial number, and the wrong tape that seals the box.

Not The First Time

Believe it or not, but Paul has already purchased a fake Pokemon Illustrator card for $150K. When he figured it out, he punched a wall and got to the hospital. Hopefully, this time he won’t injure himself again and experts figure out that the box is real. What do you think about it?
