Excitement is mounting for the upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto 6, with expectations soaring that it will become one of the most significant entertainment releases in 2025.

According to market research firm DFC Intelligence, this installment is likely to surpass $1 billion in pre-orders alone. The firm estimates that total revenue could reach $3.2 billion within the first twelve months, which would be approximately double the earnings of Grand Theft Auto 5 during its initial year.

Yoshio Osaki, CEO of IDF Consulting, shares a positive outlook, believing this launch could represent a milestone not only in gaming but across all forms of media. He attributes this potential success to unprecedented pent-up demand among consumers.

The initial trailer for the much-anticipated game was released on December 4, 2023, amassing over 231 million views on YouTube since its debut. The narrative is set in the fictional state of Leonida, home to the famous Vice City from earlier installments. The storyline centers around Lucia and her companion as they attempt to evade law enforcement.

Rockstar Games has confirmed that the game will be available in the fall of 2025, though a particular launch date remains to be announced. It will be made accessible on PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S consoles platforms.

Even beyond the excitement surrounding GTA 6, 2025 is poised to be a remarkable year for the gaming industry. The anticipated unveiling of the The Nintendo Switch 2 is approaching, offering promise strong sales upon its release. Additionally, fans can look forward to numerous major titles, including Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Monster Hunter Wilderness, and Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
