Google Maps Gets Even More Useful with New Nearby Traffic Widget for Android Users
The problem of traffic jams is more relevant than ever. Google is trying to do everything for the comfort of users, so in the coming week, the release of the Nearby Traffic Widget will make moving by car for Android users even easier and more convenient. With it, you can get information about traffic jams around your current location directly from the main screen of your smartphone. To do this, you just need to tap on the new widget from Google. According to preliminary information, the size of this widget is 2x2. Google, in its blog, officially confirmed the release of this new feature next week.
With the new widget, you can use Google maps even faster and easier. There is no need to specifically find the application in the list and look for something in it. Just tap on the widget, and all information about traffic near your location will be instantly displayed. The size of the widget itself can be changed depending on the user's preferences.
A preliminary demo from Google let us know that the new widget will be in the shape of a square with rounded edges. It will display a map with the current location of the user, who will be in the center of this map and indicated by a blue dot. Also, soon, Google plans to add information to Google maps about the approximate cost of a trip, possible free routes, and other useful things. So, this may find its way into the new widget in the future. At the moment, this feature is especially widespread in the US, Japan, Indonesia, and India.
