EA FIFA Is Dead, Long Live EA Sports FC!
FIFA by EA has been the official digital representation of the world’s greatest soccer organization, with its tournaments, leagues, and everything mirroring the real situation. This time, it seems, has gone. The disagreement between FIFA and EA reportedly leads to the most serious rebranding of the game series.
The disputes have been taking place for some time, and now, according to the podcast by Jeff Grubb (of VentureBeat), EA decided to get off the dead horse. It doesn’t drop the idea of a soccer simulator as is, but from now on, it’s going to be rebranded. There was even the potential new name, and, if the rumor is true, the game will be now released as EA Sports FC.
What else will change? Maybe quite a lot. No more bound by FIFA rules and the need to keep to the real-life situation, EA can introduce new modes and introduce imaginary players and clubs. On the other hand, FIFA may disallow the usage of its symbolics and any IP at all. The previous reports also say that the next FIFA games would bring cross-play in and pay more attention to women’s teams.
As for visuals, the HyperMotion technology will evolve further. No wonder, as the game will probably be developed for next-gen consoles and powerful PC configurations. Versions for last-gen and weaker PC will probably also appear but won’t be that impressive.
What’s known for sure about the installment upcoming these years is that EA is to drop Russian clubs and players from the game. But it has nothing to do with the disagreement between EA and FIFA, because in real life Russia was removed from the qualification for the World Cup 2022 as well.
What do you expect from the next FIFA installment or whatever it’s named? Will it change a lot after the collaboration collapses? If you know anything about it or just want to speculate, you can leave us a comment!
