Alan Wake Games May Hit Current Consoles
The story of Alan Wake can be now ported to different platforms. At least, so says Remedy, since it announced that now it owns the series. Until recently Microsoft bought the game, and so, logically, Alan Wake is now available only on PC and Xbox 360.
Will the Horror Continue?
When asked if it means potential sequels, there was no definite answer, besides what’s already been said. The company has its rights now, and it’s going to use them for bringing the game to PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and, probably, mobile platforms.
So far Alan Wake, being a cult game of its genre, only gave birth to one sequel, namely American Nightmare, officially considered a spinoff. While the developer, Remedy, always had its rights to publish and sell the PC version, the version for Xbox was owned by Microsoft until this announcement. This probably prohibited releasing the games on different platforms, but now Remedy is no more haunted, so it can promote it further.
Though the original game was released in 2010, it’s still popular. The extended edition includes a book that is an object of the cult by itself, and, probably, it will be the base for the TV adaptation, now in production already (though it may be a standalone story).
Alan, Wake Up to the New Music
Probably the game will be reworked for the extended release. The original sales were stopped because the developers couldn’t use the music from this game anymore, and replacing it made no sense. Now the situation is different, and, probably, we are to hear the new soundtrack as well.
