Adobe Introduces Apple M1 Support for Premiere Pro
Adobe’s Premiere Pro is currently officially up for grabs for everyone using an M1 Mac. Support for Apple’s new chips was successfully rolled out a few days ago, following a beta release in winter. Bear in mind that this is no longer beta. The full version is finally available to the public. So, if you’ve been longing to see Premiere Pro run natively on Apple’s new chip architecture, today’s your lucky day.
The company says that now that Adobe’s video-editing suite has taken full advantage of the speed increases granted by Apple’s M1 Macs, everything is faster, from start to export, while editing is ‘as smooth as butter.’ Overall, we’re talking up to 80% faster performance compared to the Intel-based Macs. On the additional plus side, the app uses a lot less battery power on M1 Macs.
Apple released its first PCs with M1 chips in November. Though they were not bad at running apps created for Intel-based machines, the software had to be updated to let the users really make the most of the M1’s speed enhancements. Getting Adobe on board was necessary, for its apps are paramount for lots of specialists. Luckily, Adobe released the updates for its most frequently used apps rather fast.
Premiere Pro is also planning to update some other features in its summer release. The speech-to-text tool, which is now able to automatically create a video transcript, is among them. Furthermore, you’ll get to enjoy the new captions customization functionality, adjusting the way that text will show on your video. Nothing but good news tech-wise lately, have you noticed?
