Activision Blizzard Employees Forced To Return To Office Despite Pandemic Concerns

Activision Blizzard, one of the world's leading video game giants, is reportedly forcing its US staff to return to their offices in the coming months despite pandemic concerns. According to two social media users claiming to be Activision Blizzard employees, the company informed staff on Monday of a 'return to office plan' which will see them returning from a specific date onwards.

The announcement has caused a stir due to the ongoing pandemic and the risks associated with returning to the office. While some staff may see value in returning, most employees are against it. LeastMyHairIsOk, who claims to work for Blizzard, said on Twitter: “The majority of employees at ABK have no interest in returning to the office either full or part-time. This isn’t to say that nobody sees the value in an office environment, but we’ve decided the risks do not outweigh those benefits."

Many others have voiced their concerns about potential health hazards and risk of exposure if they go back into their offices. Activision Blizzard has yet to make an official statement on this matter. However, some speculate that they are trying to reduce costs by cutting down remote working expenses, as many companies have done since last year's pandemic.

It remains uncertain whether Activision Blizzard will push through with its plan despite objections from its staff, given how other companies like Google and Microsoft are also allowing their workers more flexibility when it comes to choosing whether or not they want to return physically back into their offices post-pandemic.

It is unclear what lies ahead for Activision Blizzard US employees as far as going back into their physical offices goes. However, it is evident that there is much resistance towards this move from both management and staff alike due, largely in part, because of health concerns during this unprecedented global crisis we still find ourselves in today.
