Ubisoft Released a Far Cry 6 Teaser Trailer, but No Gameplay
A new installment in the iconic series is coming. Today, Ubisoft released a new teaser of the upcoming Far Cry 6, the installment fans have been waiting for three years (and probably will have to wait a little more). The teaser is revealed before the announced gameplay video, and while it sheds some light on what’s going on, there are more questions left.
The sixth installment takes the player to the Caribbean island named Yara, with all the attributes of a typical Caribbean dictatorship. El Presidente, played by Giancarlo Esposito, seems even a greater villain than his Gustavo Fring from Breaking Bad – but, just like Fring, he also has layers. It’s El Presidente who was featured in the previous 12-second teaser, but now we only see the portrait instead of the true face. El Presidente addresses the “true Yarans”, implying there’s a riot going on, led by the “fake Yarans”.
We already know that the protagonist (played by you) is among these rivals. A former Yaran soldier who has enough skills of survival and organizing warfare is the right protagonist for this game. But the teaser does not show even a trace of the gameplay. So we all wait until the real gameplay trailer is released. As far as we know, it’s a matter of hours. It will probably be out today, and it will be long enough to sip the gameplay moments and details. So far, we know much more about the antagonist of the installment than about the protagonist.
Far Cry 6 will be available on PlayStation 4/5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Google Stadia. The release date is so far set on October 7, 2021, unless the release is postponed for some reason. We hope Ubisoft finishes the production soon enough, so Giancarlo Esposito can easily return to our beloved character in Better Call Saul, and the developers have enough time to make the game an action masterpiece.
