Valve Unveils Deadlock: A New Hybrid Shooter-MOBA Set for Exciting Launch
Valve has made the announcement of their new game titled Deadlock, bringing excitement among fans. This revelation comes after the game has been on the radar of the gaming community since May, when an invite-only alpha was launched on Steam. Although touted as exclusive, the reality was different, as players could send out an unlimited number of invitations, leading to the game gaining significant attention online and numerous leaks about its features.
As a result of this rapid spread, Deadlock garnered a peak of 44,000 concurrent players even before its formal launch. This indicates a considerable level of interest and engagement in the game, making it clear that the reveal was perhaps not as discreet as initially intended.
Deadlock fuses the mechanics of third-person shooters with classic MOBA elements, emphasizing strategy in multiplayer matches that are expected to last around 30 minutes. It is also reported to be compatible with both Windows and the Steam Deck, broadening its accessibility to various players.
Currently, there is limited confirmed information available from Valve, with much of the in-game and Steam store content being classified as placeholder or experimental.
